NOAA Weather Radio broadcasts on 7 special frequencies in the VHF band. These aren't like regular FM radio stations - they're reserved just for weather and emergency information!
All frequencies are between 162.400 MHz and 162.550 MHz. Each weather station in the country uses one of these 7 channels. Knowing them helps you find weather info no matter where you are!

Memory Tricks
Here are some fun ways to remember these frequencies:
The "162 Rule"
All frequencies start with 162 - that's easy! Just remember "one-six-two" and you're halfway there.
The "Quarter Jump"
Each channel goes up by 0.025 MHz (a quarter of 0.1). Think of it like counting by quarters:
- .400 → .425 → .450 → .475 → .500 → .525 → .550
The "4-5-5 Pattern"
The last digits follow a pattern: 400, 425, 450, 475, 500, 525, 550
First four start with 4, last three start with 5!
Make a Song!
Try singing to a tune you know: "Four-hundred, four-twenty-five, four-fifty, four-seventy-five, five-hundred, five-twenty-five, five-fifty!"
