Who We Are
Kids Radio â Scout Edition is a small, free project created to help kids, families, and scout groups explore real radio and weather broadcasts in a safe, fun way. We focus on simple explanations, real sounds, and easy activities families can try together at home or on campouts.
This site does not sell products, ask for donations, or offer live classes. Instead, it collects helpful tips, links, and live audio streams so anyone who is curious about weather radios and outdoor communication can start learning. We especially want to support families and kids who might not know where to begin.
Trusted Information Sources
To build our guides, we rely on information from trusted professional sources such as:
- The National Weather Service
- NOAA educational resources
- Other established weather-safety and science education sites
We read and summarize that information in kid-friendly language so children and non-experts can better understand what they are hearing.
Our Mission
Our mission is to:
- Encourage curiosity about weather, nature, and radio communication.
- Help families and youth groups understand basic weather safety ideas.
- Give kids a safe way to hear real broadcasts and practice listening skills.
Important Notice
Kids Radio â Scout Edition is not an official government, scouting, or emergency service website.
For real emergencies and official warnings, visitors should always rely on:
- Local authorities
- The National Weather Service
- Your own NOAA Weather Radio or official apps
